Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Lecturer in Chemistry tenable in Physics and Biochemical Sciences Department at The Polytechnic, a constituent college of the University of Malawi. 

Duties

Teaching and Learning

• Develop and review teaching and learning materials

• Provide tuition to students at undergraduate level

• Undertake assessment activities

• Contribute to curriculum development and reviews

Mentoring

• Participate in mentorship sessions

Research

• Participate in research leading to publications and policy development

• Participate linkages for multidisciplinary research

• Contribute in specialized research groups

• Supervise undergraduate students

Consultancy

• Implement and monitor multidisciplinary projects

Community Engagement & Outreach

• Participate in community capacity building programmes

• Participate in departmental outreach activities

Qualifications

Candidates for the Lecturer position should hold at least a master’s degree in a relevant field strongly linked to the undergraduate qualification of a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences and Technology majoring in Environmental Management or Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or its equivalent with credit or distinction.
