Admission Criteria Requirements

The selection of applicants is based upon consideration of individual academic achievement.

Normal Entry

A candidate with a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), “O” Level, IGCSE, or GCE English, Mathematics and Science (Physical Science, Physics or Chemistry) can be admitted into the programme at year one.

Mature Entry

Entry into Year 2:

  • A-Level with at least a C grade in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Drawing.
  • City and Guilds Advanced Diploma in Engineering field with two years of relevant experience.
  • BSc in related engineering and science fields
  • University of Malawi Diploma in Engineering Degree in (e.g. UNIMA Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil and Electrical), with at least two years of relevant experience
  • Malawi Board of Governors Diploma programmes in engineering fields, with at least two years relevant experience.

Entry into Year 3:

  • BSc in related engineering and science fields
  • University of Malawi Diploma in Engineering Degree in (e.g. UNIMA Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil and Electrical), with at least two years of relevant experience
  • Malawi Board of Governors Diploma programmes in engineering fields, with at least two years relevant experience
  • Other related qualifications from recognised institutions may be assessed by the Admissions Office

Entry into Year 4:

  • Bachelors degree in relevant field of engineering and science. Other related qualification from recognised institutions may be assessed by the Admissions Office.
