History
The Malawi Institution of Engineers was established in 2006 as a student organization of and for engineering students at the Polytechnic. It is one of the more prominent student assocations at the Polytechnic, just as the Faculty of Engineering is--measured by the number of programs it offers--the most prominent faculty at the Polytechnic. Indeed, the significance and prominence of MIE has only grown as the number of major offered by the Faculty of Engineering has also increased.
Goals
To set a platform for interaction and the sharing of ideas among engineering students.
To provide a forum for more experienced student to mentor younger students
To provide opportunities for students to network with professionals in the industry.
